The President of Sudan said on Friday that his country would not accept assistance from the West for those displaced in camps in Darfur, Anadolu has reported. France delivers first of four corvettes to Egypt

France officially handed over a new corvette to the Egyptian navy in a ceremony at Lorient Port in Brittany on Friday, Anadolu has reported. This is the first of four Gowind 2500-class corvettes to be delivered to Egypt. Vice-Admiral Ahmed Khaled raised the Egyptian flag on Al-Fateh; it joins the fleet as part of a deal agreed last year which includes three other ships to be built in Alexandria with French assistance. Able to hunt and destroy submarines, the warship is capable of carrying out multiple tasks, such as securing maritime transport lines and guarding other ships and ports. International conference about Mediterranean migration held in Tunis

An international conference opened in Tunis on Friday to discuss strategies for reducing the number of victims of the Mediterranean migration route to Europe, Anadolu has reported. The international Alarm-Phone-Initiative and Germany’s Rosa Luxemburg Foundation organised the conference, which was attended by several other international and Tunisian NGOs, including Physicians Sans Frontiers. According to Muneeb Bakkary of Alarm-Phone-Initiative, the agenda included discussions about the status of the migrants, EU policies on refugees and the partnership deals between the EU and the Mediterranean countries. Iraqi militia ‘will fight wherever Iran’s Khamenei wants’

A Shia militia in Iraq has said that it is ready to fight wherever Iran’s Supreme Guide Ali Khamenei wants it to, Eremnews.com reported on Friday.
